The concept of the “American Dream” advocates social success and equality of opportunity.

It is an ideology based on the idea that every individual, regardless of social or economic background, can achieve success and improve their lot through hard work, determination and creativity.
This concept is deeply rooted in the history and culture of the United States. Although the American dream is often idealised, it is also criticised for the social and economic inequalities that persist, calling into question the ability of everyone to achieve this dream.
The United States is full of abandoned places that tell fascinating and mysterious stories. These derelict sites bear witness to a vibrant past, offering a glimpse into human stories, ambitions and lost dreams. This series of photographs highlights the unusual beauty and evocative character of these forgotten places.
Through this American ‘journey’, I am reminded of a whole range of imagery from my childhood, discovered through films, magazines and adverts, in front of which I found myself dreaming and escaping.
